The Rat Terrier, with a long life expectancy and high level of obedience, is known to be a great pet for families. It does, however, require regular exercise and does not adapt well to cold climates. The average Rat Terrier weighs between 22 and 40 pounds and stands between 16 to 19 inches tall. Rat Terriers are known for being affectionate and social and are good with children. With a short coat, they’re also not known for shedding either.
